Samburu - Mt. Kenya - Nakuru - Masai Mara

Day 1
Leave Nairobi in the morning to reach the small market town of Nyen in time for lunch. The founder of the Boy Scout movement, Lord Baden Powell, spent the last years of his life in Nyeri and is buried there. After lunch drive through the forest to the "Treehotel" of your choice and spend the night.
All meals - overnight at Treetops or Ark.

Day 2
After breakfast drive north to reach Samburu, which lies on the edge of the vast semi-desert lands of northern Kenya. An afternoon safari drive will introduce you to the animals that are peculiar to the area: the reticulated giraffe, the gerenuk, Grevy's zebra and the Somali ostrich.
All meals - overnight at Samburu Lodge, Samburu Serena or Shaba Lodge.

Day 3
Another exploration of this harshly beautiful reserve where wild animals abound, especially in the forested fringes on the Uaso Nyiro. Early morning and afternoon safari drives.

Day 4
An early morning drive in this wild but splendid reserve. Continue to the luxurious Mt. Kenya Safari Club whose immaculately manicured gardens nestle on the forested slopes of the mountain. Relax in the comfortable surroundings.
All meals - overnight at Mt. Kenya Safari Club.

Day 5
During the morning cross the tip of the Aberdare mountains stopping briefly to admire the 73 m (240 foot) plunge of Thomson's Falls, named after the Scottish explorer who first saw them in 1884. Continue to Lake Nakuru. Lunch and afternoon visit of the National Park where the sight of a hundred thousand flamingos cannot be forgotten.
All meals - overnight at Lion hill, Lake Nakuru or Elementaita Lodge or Lake Naivasha Club.

Day 6
Leave the beautiful lake to drive across the Great Rift Valley to reach Kenya's best known animal reserve - the Masai Mara - in time for lunch. In the afternoon explore the rolling hills and plains for wonderful sights of the great numbers of different species found there.
All meals - overnight at a lodge or tented camp.

Day 7
Morning and afternoon animal viewing and exploration of this National Reserve, which borders Tanzania and the Serengeti.
All meals - overnight at a lodge or tented camp.

Day 8
After breakfast return to Nairobi which is reached at mid-day.
